Jaigaon is a small town in Jalpaiguri district in the Indian state of West Bengal, near the Bhutan border. The town lies at the gateway to Bhutan - Phuentsholing, and is thus a very thriving place of trade and smuggling foreign goods. It lies on the banks of the Torsa river. It is a census town and a police station of Alipurduar subdivision. Jaigaon, a beautiful upcoming industrial and business town, is situated at the green lusture and foothills of a friendly neighbouring country Bhutan. It is also situated on the banks of the holy river Toorsa. Jaigaon is surrounded by beautiful green hills and tea gardens. On the other side of the border lies a foreign town Phuentsholing where a guest can have a view of the sacred Buddhist Monastery Crocodile Farm and a foreign goods market.. . |
